COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Through the help from our wonderful team, in collaboration from the Regional East Bay Center case managers, and the Contra Costa Health Department of Public Health, Open House Center was provided the opportunity to become a COVID19 vaccination site! Our certified nurses expertly administered vaccines to people over the age of 65 and other healthcare workers in addition, the administrative staff of OHC helped register and facilitate the drive up process while ensuring efficiency, making the entire vaccination experience no more than 20 minutes for each individual. At Open House center we strive to help out everyone in the community.

Open House Center started working with Contra Costa Health Department of Public Health last September of Year 2020 to reach and help out in the community serving people with developmental disabilities to access a mobile clinic for the Influenza Vaccine. Due to the rise in COVID-19, this has helped the clients tremendously by mitigating exposure in going out to pharmacies and/or clinics. Clients were treated in the comforts and safety of their own homes. Once they received the vaccine clients were given a sticker. The clients were very excited, motivated, relieved, and happy. Their responses were one of the highlights for many OHC Employees! Not only did OHC inoculate the clients in the comfort of their own home, OHC also offered to vaccinate the healthcare workers at their job-site.
